Kirk currently resides on unceded First Nation territory now known as Quebec, Canada. He has academic degrees in Electrical Engineering, Management and Collaboration Science that he applies toward the integration of the technical, cognitive, cultural and social dimensions of complex problems.

==Academia and Career==
Kirk retired in 2020 from a long career as an engineer with the United States Air Force Research Laboratory: the capstone of this career was his co-facilitation of six major collaborative structured dialogue workshops spanning multiple technical domains. His dissertation, entitled “Sympathetic Communicative Action: A Preliminary Theory and Model of Human Collaboration” is a transdisciplinary framework for ways of knowing, being and valuing. Kirk’s current interest is in de-conflating the axiological capacity to value from ontological ways of being and relating. This is in the hopes that group consultation can go beyond collaborative process events toward sustaining, caring communities.

==Early life==
Laouris was born in Paphos, Cyprus, in 1958. He attended The English School, the Pancyprian Gymnasium, and the Acropolis Gymnasium. He served in the Cypriot National Guard as the first Cypriot senior cryptographer after the 1974 Cypriot coup d'état and the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. He graduated from the medical school of the Karl Marx University (today known as University of Leipzig), enjoying three parallel scholarships because of his top grades, and completed a PhD in Neurophysiology with summa cum laude with Prof. Peter Schwartze at the Carl Ludwig Institute of Physiology. ==Contributions in reforming education to the needs of the digital era==
In 1992, Laouris decided to devote a decade of his life to a vision he called CYBER KIDS.<ref>CYBER KIDS</ref> The project involved the development of a cybernetics-based innovative<ref>Laouris, Y. (2014). Teams construct knowledge during project-driven social interactions. Educating in Dialog: Constructing Meaning and Building Knowledge with Dialogic Technology, 24, 111-113.</ref>, team-, project based curriculum that was grounded on the concept of KnowledgePacket to construct lesson plans that required collaboration and comprised of multiple dimensions, including the value for real life, mental development, creativity, etc. By 1999, CYBER KIDS reached 15,000 children in Cyprus, i.e., 20% of the country’s youth population (ages 6–15) and contributed against brain drain by employing almost 200 young scientists. He is a founding member of Elgon Young Professionals (EYP) in his Community that is helping in improving girl child education.
Taraja is an alumni of the 3rd African Model United Nations (AfroMUN) where youth were taken through International Diplomacy and Relations at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi. He is a member of Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) and its founder of the YALDA Kabianga Branch.

He is an independent writer, blogger and journalist reporting on different issues ranging from politics, democracy, governance and environment. Abel Mavura is a UK-based global systems thinker, changemaker, and social entrepreneur who joined the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS) in 2024 to contribute to interdisciplinary solutions for global challenges. With more than 13 years of experience leading development initiatives across Africa, Asia, and Europe, his work bridges the fields of migration, human rights, gender equality, sustainable development, and technology for social inclusion.

Kevin is a Senior Research Scientist of Future Worlds and the Director of Research for the Institute of 21st Century Agoras.
He previously served in research roles as:

Grant Writer, Researcher, & Assistant Director of Outreach at The Center for Green Chemistry of University of Massachusetts Boston & Lowell,
Chief Process Scientist for CWA Ltd. Interactive Management Consultants,
Director of Medical Diagnostic Decision Making at Diagnology Inc. during the Economic Development for Peace initiative in Northern Ireland.

==Academia and Career==
After completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialty in Thermodynamics from Northeastern University (1985) he joined United Technologies as Coordinator of Computer Aided Engineering for Otis Elevator. Transferring to United Technologies Research Center he led Integrated Product/Process Design in the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences Rapid Response Manufacturing Advanced Technology Program for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He was sponsored as a Sloan Visiting Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1994-95.

His most recent work in the application of [[Structured Dialogic Design]] includes Evolution of the Technical Vision for Autonomous Systems and Future Synthesis of Electronic & Cyberwarfare in the Sensors Directorate of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratories. He has previously designed and conducted [[Structured Democratic Dialogue]] workshops for the World Health Organization, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, the U.S. Food& Drug Administration, the U.S. Forest Service, the National Mental Health Association, and the National Patient Safety Foundation and Envisioning of the Creative Economy for the Massachusetts South Coast.

'''Abdulkarim Taraja''' has joined ISSS in 2024. Abdulkarim is a Kenyan social innovator, dedicated to addressing complex social problems through structured dialogue and action research. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Elgon Centre for Education (ECE KENYA), an Organization promoting access to quality education in rural areas through academic mentorship, support, life skills, career guidance and motivational speeches in schools across Western and North Rift parts of Kenya.

==Personal Life==
Abdulkarim was selected as the Mandela Washington Fellow 2022 Cohort beginning in June and will be based in Syracuse University, New York State, United States of America. Prior to this Fellowship, he trained Leadership in Public Management at the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Centre- East Africa in Cohort 39 and currently its Alumni.

He is also a Metis Collective Alumni Cohort 5- a fellowship designed to reimagine the state of education in Kenya and Africa.

Abdulkarim was a Co-Participant of the Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era (African Initiative) and Future Worlds Center Agent with substantive knowledge of the Structured Democratic Dialogue Process (SDDP). He is an Ambassador of the Social Transformation Youth Program in Kenya that was established by the Inter-religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) in 2015 that is meant to socially transform Kenya.

==Academia and Career==
He is a founding member of Elgon Young Professionals (EYP) in his Community that is helping in improving girl child education.
Taraja is an alumni of the 3rd African Model United Nations (AfroMUN) where youth were taken through International Diplomacy and Relations at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi. He is a member of Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) and its founder of the YALDA Kabianga Branch.

==Special Interests==
He is an independent writer, blogger and journalist reporting on different issues ranging from politics, democracy, governance and environment. He is currently involved in community empowerment volunteering with other interest to sensitize community's on Peaceful coexistence in the democratic processes, economic empowerment and use of social media platforms to access information jobs for youth and access leaders in power.
